The Ice was checked on the morning of 1/17/2025.
Some areas currently have 4″ to 6″ of ice. They are at the far end of the main pond and the Pickerel pond. The middle and regions around the aerators are not safe!
Ice fishing at the SHGFFA
Check the thickness
There must be at least 4” of solid ice to fish.
Stay far away from the aerators since they keep the water from freezing.
With the snow cover insulating the ice it does not get thick and you can’t tell until it’s too late.
The best way to get on the ice is to use the road to reach the main pond’s far end.
The limit is three trout.
Make sure you have a current fishing license with a trout stamp.
